If you are aged over 25 and wish to gain better health, better fitness or make new friends through swimming, the Masters squad at the City of Southampton Swimming Club is ideal for you. The squad encompasses a whole range of abilities from casual fitness swimming to highly organised competitive swimming. Everyone has his or her reason for swimming; health, general fitness, camaraderie or just for fun, how far you go is up to you.
The Masters squad presently has approximately 35 to 40 members. We have two dedicated sessions at the Quays per week, with the training program set by the head coach of the club. The main club session is on Thursdays from 20:00 to 21:00, and both this and the Tuesday night session (19:30 to 20:30) are coached by James. The lanes are organised by ability, so even if you haven’t swum for years there will be a level to suit you.
Alongwith other members of the squad, you will have the opportunity to take part in a range of competitions throughout the year. During the past year members from the squad have very successfully competed at the county championships, national championships and been selected to represent Hampshire in inter-county competition. There are also a number of social events organised throughout the year in addition to our weekly trip to the pub after training on a Thursday night.
If you are interested in joining us simply turn up to the main session on a Thursday 20:00 to 21:00, or email:
